Prevent precipitation and accumulation of crystals related to scaling.
Oilfield scaling is the precipitation and accumulation of insoluble crystals from a mixture of incompatible aqueous phases in oil processing systems. These crystals can precipitate and grow over time, resulting in blocking or hindering flow through pipelines, valves, pumps, etc., with a significant reduction in production rates. The most common types of oilfield scale are calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, and calcium sulfate.
