Prevent unwanted accumulations of wax and asphaltenes
Paraffins and asphaltenes are naturally occurring components of crude oils. Asphaltenes are large aromatic agglomerate compounds held in solution by petroleum resins naturally found in crude oils. They will accumulate in areas of your production equipment where the natural resin balance is disrupted, such as areas where pressure drops occur. Paraffin is a saturated hydrocarbon wax that precipitates when conditions are altered, making it no longer soluble in the crude.
