Scale/Corrosion Inhibitors

NovaStar markets a full line of scale control products.  Scale is defined as deposits of inorganic material that is no longer soluble in the produced oilfield brines.  The most common scales include calcium carbonate, sulfates of calcium, barium, and strontium, and iron sulfides.  Scales can result from changes in the fluids that affect solubility such as changes in pH, temperature, or pressure.  Scales are often the result of mixing incompatible waters.  Oilfield scales can interfere with production equipment operation, plugging of tubulars, plugging of perforations, or plugging of reservoir porosity.  Control methods include both prevention with inhibitors and removal with dissolvers and converters.  Be sure to contact the NovaStar technical department for the best products and application techniques possible.
